The reason you have this error is that somebody else took the name or tag for its clan. Usually, the OG tags are taken, so there's a little chance you will get one.
About the clan color, it colors the tag and the name, but it costs real money to do so. If you subscribe from the shop (https://web.gamster.org), you have the access every color for the tag, but if your subscription expires, the tag will remain with the last color chosen.
